Clayton keeps hiding.
I've had my crab Clayton for about 3 days now, we moved from my home to my dorm room just fine and the first night in the hall he was playing quite a bit, but he has buried himself for about a day straight now. I open his tank to spray him and there is a very strange smell. It's not so much fishy as just bad. I'm afraid to move him because i don't want to scare him. What should i do?

if he stays buried for more than 2 weeks he's molting. smaller crabs take only weeks. bigger ones take like a month

micros take like a week and a half at the most. He could be digging to destress. I have no idea what a dead crab smells like though, which is a good thing...wait a couple weeks and if it gets really bad then I'd see whats going on

The "dead crab" smell is seriously like tuna fish. If you've ever smelled tuna before it became tuna salad...that's the best way I can describe it.
Is Clayton alone? If so, you might consider getting him a friend, as that may help him be more comfortable in his new home.
