go to user control panel, click on profile, then click on av, then click brows.you might need to edit the size.just right click on your photo before you upload it, and cllick on edit.it will bring up the paint program on your computer, so you can click on image: stretch/skew, and make it about an inch wide, and an inch tall. if you want to use a specific area in to pic, like i did,just use the dotted box thingy on your upper left tool box thingy. and just put that around(again about an inch long,an inch wide) once you got the box aroud, just right click in the box, and click copy. then go up to file, and click new.dont save.now click past,and your ave will be there.now on the edges of the box,(and white box that its in) just click and drag until you dont see any more of the white. go back up to file and click save.now go back to uploading your av, go to the pic you made, and double click. now go down and click save... wahlah!!! you have made your own av........sorry im so bad at directions and spelling, but its the best i could do
