I use a single 50W ceramic heat emitter to heat my 45 gallon tank. It does warm the water a little, but perhaps not enough for their liking.

Yeah but if it's raising air temp to the same level as mine then it would still warm the water as much you would think.

What temp do you keep your tank?

A bit off topic, but Appps I am loving those algae covered rocks in your pool! #D

I personally all for filters, I like how they can cycle the pools with involves less water changes & is a good place to trap debris making cleaning a breeze.

I am noticed that heating the pools, the hermies are more likely to take a bathe in them, has anyone noticed that too?

I've never had any problems with 'Impulse Buying'. They're just animals that I forgot I had planned to get.

You know I am pretty sure the crabs are eating the algae on those rocks as I haven't cleaned it off the rocks for over a year. It should be going crazy.

I used to scrub them and boil before putting back after my 6 month pond clean but then noticed it never takes over like in my goldfish tank. Have seen regular crabs at the beach eating the algae an apparently the aquatic version of the hermit crabs eats it so good chance ours do too :)
