Mites and pests

Post by Invalidgamertag »

I have noticed every morning when I check on my hermit that there is a silky like substance with black egg looking balls all over and around his food. I was just wondering if this was caused by mites because I can find no information about it on the internet. Please help.

If you think you have mites, you'll need to replace all of your substrate or bake it to kill off anything living in it. Boil all tank ornaments or bake those that can't be boiled (logs, etc.). Then give your crab a bath in salt water - put the crab in the water with the opening of the shell up and let the crab come out and turn itself right side up. This will flush the shell with salt water. Repeat a few times and then do it daily for a few days until you no longer notice any mites.
