shy Stan

Post by Crabby Kortney »

I just finished writing a worry about Stan my hermie who is very good at climbing and now something else is wrong with another crab! Kenny is my shyest crab. He is missing one leg and half an annatine so he has every right to be! I've been working on him and he was getting alot better, then he stopped coming out of his shell and when i held him he sticks out his claw and pinches. I turn on the light and he is still in his shell but sometimes he has moved. Is he just shy again or is something wrong?

He might be getting ready to molt. That's why they call being grumpy being "crabby." Let him be for a while and see if that's not what he is up to.

Should i still give him a bath my friend was sitting for me for a week and she has a little brother who likes to pick up the crabs but then drops them alot. Could this be from stress because he thinks ill drop him too?

Is there anything i can do to help if stress is the case? For example special foods, special care, some kind of therepy? (whih i used on him when i first got him to come out of his shell when he was shy) Like I said in another topic i get really worked up about my hermies it could just be a simple reason that i dont have to worry about!

Like Kerie said, just leave him alone for now and don't let the kids touch him or pick him up. Since he is still waving his claw around then he should be fine.

Thanks again for the advise. Last night I woke up and kenny was half buired in the sand! I guess he's going to molt! I'll keep him in a quiet place to see if he reallly is going to. You guys rock at advise!

thanks again
