Poor new Hermie passed

Yesterday I bought 2 new Hermies for my tank. Both were small but not tiny. One was (still is) active and healthy, the other was evidently not because soon after I put them in the tank she lost a leg. I watched her for a while, then she moved into one of the huts by herself. I gave her some honey to make her feel better but this morning she was out of the hut and almost out of the shell. When I picked her up her whole little body slid out and I noticed she was already dead. I felt really bad but I don't think I could have kept her alive because she was already ill possibly from stress. I took the little body back to the store and told them they sold me a sick crab. This is my first experience with a dead crab, hopefully I won't have too many more. I now have 8 crabs in my 20 gallon tank and will get 2 more with a total of 10.

I am so sorry your crab passed away. By the way did you say you fed it honey?

I have never heard of that before.

Honey and organic peanut butter are good things to hand feed them. They love it.
