i never thought about a hamster ball im sure my new hermit crab Tobi would love it once hes used to me. XD

Lots of different opinions on this, and a lot has to do too with the size of the hermies:

We had one during our first year of crabbing.... the hermies could not move it about that well and we felf sorry for them so ended up throwing the hamster balls away. Our baby pools give them a lot more freedom.

I put a hermie in a hamster ball once and it wasn't what I expected. It would be better with a hermie play pen like Marie's baby pool. I bet you could find a baby pool free in the summer and just clean it out really well. It cost less than a $6 hamster ball at retail stores. :)
