Colored Popsicle Sticks

Post by hondamx »

I was thinking about making a 2nd level out of popsicle sticks. The only thing is that I only have the colored ones. Would those hurt the hermies? What about the normal popsicle sticks?

I may be leary about the colored ones. Normal ones may be fine, i don't see why not. Maybe make sure there are no chemicals in the wood.

Would that be safe for hermies?

Whoa...that is SOOO cool. Maybe put some sand paper on top so they have something to grab onto, so they don't fall. But see what other people think first, i'm not sure if sand paper would be safe for them. Thoughts anyone???

Yeah that is cool. I think I would have flipped the plastic thing the other wayand used it to put food or extra shells in. I am thinking they may slide off of that. if you had more of the mesh stuff and you could cover the whole thing in that it might be ok that way. That way they have something to hold onto. You could maybe find some vines or something else like that to place around it so if they do slide they have something to catch onto. I have this stuff it is plastic but it is called spanish moss. I got it in the reptile section I use that on my shelf I have. Not sure about the sand paper though. Might have chemicals on it.

that is a neat idea. i would think about iluv's advice about turning it upside down. some people like to keep their extra shells separate, keeps the sand out of them usually. i wouldn't worry too much about them slipping if you turn it over. what is that plastic thing anyway? where did you get it? it looks like tupperware....that's neat!

that's cool, I did something like that with a plastic basket that my baby carrots came in. I love home made things.
