Are Craft Store Items Safe?
I am setting up a hermit crab tank and was wondering if nets, shells, and/or cholla wood from craft stores (like Michael's) is safe to use if I boil it first?

Nets: if they're all natural material and you boil them well, should be fine. You don't want plastics in the tank (hermies WILL try to eat them).
Shells: I've never seen ones that were usefully sized in a craft store (or usefully shaped). If there are some that would fit your crabs, boil them and you should be fine.
Wood: I'd be pretty skeptical here. If you can't find anywhere that it specifically says "not treated with any pesticides" I'd steer clear. That's just my two cents, though.
