-My Story-

Post by Hugalilcrab »

I am going to share a little story. I went to Petco about a month ago. I saw a beautiful straw missing all the legs on his right side. I felt really bad for him but I thought to myself, I cannot save every crab in the world. My heart broke and I walked away. A week later, I had to go back and get more crickets for my bearded dragon. I remembered the poor pathetic looking crab and went to check if he was still there. He was! But, he looked dead. I asked a worker of the store to open up the tank so I could examin closer. He was alive!!! I told her I wanted him and talked to her about the nasty tank conditions. (I am sure you all know that sight.) So, I bought him and rushed home to bathe & take care of this little, well actually, big guy. I was walking across my apartment parking lot when i here something like a rock hit the ground. The box holding my new crab broke and that is not the worse part. I ended up kicking him like three feet. I grabbed him and ran upstairs to check him out. No marks but I was worried of course about his abdomen and his stress level. The poor guy went through so much only to experience that. Gees!!! Today he is probably the most active crab in the tank! I am glad that he made it! My point? If a freak accident like that occurs, do not panic. Know that these crabs are a lot more agile, and strong willed than we may think. Keep cool, and do the best job that you can caring for these creatures. That will make YOU the best crab keeper you can be!!! Heather :)

That was such a wonderful thing to do! Would you like me to add your story to the site's collection of essays?

Your welcome! I'll also add a link to your site. Is it hosted by FreeServers? The site used to be hosted by them but I got sick of their service when they begun taking away features and spamming our pages with too many banner ads. Did you pay the $1.99 a month to remove the ads?

Don't think it was $1.99, more like $3.99. I did a little upgrade though. $50.00 a year. Don't know anything about computers to do the html codes. This route is much safer for me. ~Heather
