Dechlorinated Spring Water?

Post by capemay »

Is it okay to add "Hermit Crab drinking water conditioner" to bottled spring water?

I need to know as I did this and now that I'm thinking about it, isn't the bottled spring was already dechlorinated?

Will it hurt them if I dechlorinated water that has already been dechlorinated?

Spring water should be pure enough so that it doesn't harm hermit crabs, so dechlorinator shouldn't be necessary. Any other ideas?

Thanks for answering. I realize that spring water shouldnt need treatment, but the problem or question that I have is that I did treat it. So is it harmful that I treated water that is natually treated already?

It shouldn't be. If you're really worried, you could pour the water out and replace it with fresh spring water.

It is recommended to use a dechlorinator on all waters except for the bottled distilled (pure) water. One never knows which bottle they are buying. After any filter filters X amount of bottles the filters do not filter as well which leaves a higher chance of impurities getting through. If one would research bottled spring water (as I have and is posted on the Crabby wiki) one would see just how many impurities are within it. On this same note, just within this month on my local news channel they did a report on the bottled drinking water sold here in the U.S. and all the impurities within them. :(

I like to go to the grocery store and buy a gallon of distilled water for like less than $2

Erik Canada must be like Aus. but not quite as pricey....but yet more costly than here in U.S. and yet I am complaining about how prices are jumping. My use to be 50 cent (couple years ago) then last year 58 cent bottled distilled water is now at 84 cents a bottle!! :|

Canada has pricey stuff. But It doesn't seem like a rip off. Many people have no shortage of money or anything like that. Its because our dollar is worth the most right now (Or maybe its the British pound?)
