Kates eye did sort of grow back, still much smaller than Foxy Lady's. But Kate had 2 molts before CrabWorks saw any growth with Kate's eye. Last I talked/read from CrabWorks Kate's eye is almost 1/3 the size her other eye is, and does have eye lashes. So, so far there are 2 that I know of who have regenerated the missing eyes. (for at least who posts on the forums regarding it)

Generally, they lose their eyes in shell/territory fights. Only sometimes do the eyes grow back; I thought it was rare. A hermie's sight isn't very good, in fact they rely a lot on their antennas to sense food and their surroundings.

oh wow.. i just got a new hermie, her name is pipa,(my mom wanted to name her) her antenae look like they where cut in half, would she still be able to get around??
For the last few days she hasn't been eating and she's been staying close to the bottom of the iso but she hasn't covered herself. She dug down to the bottom and you can see her whole shell. It's not like a tunnel they make when they molt. She doesn't have a moltie bubble by her smaller leg. The last thing I saw her eat was 8-bean salad I made Thursday last week. She's given up hiding in her log and just sits next to it all curled up. Temp and humidity levels are just like the main tank because they're together. She has crushed up cuttlebone at all times and her fresh and salt water dishes. She has 3 extra shells even though she already found her favorite one. She won't eat honey from my finger like the other hermies. I've just left her alone to do her thing but I want to take her out and see what's going on. She's right out in the open and I could just pick her up but I'm not sure if you guys think it's such a good idea. She's been in that spot for a few days. I tried to get her a cocohut so she can easily walk in and out if she needs to but they only have one at work and it's barely got a hole to get in. I could buy it and dremmel around the opening to make it bigger but it would take ten years.
She needs to molt, in my opinion, and I know it's hard to do all this waiting. I just wanted to ask everyone if they have any advice. Is there any food that would really entice her to eat? She just had her own bay scallop all to herself with red sea salt and parsley and sesame seeds on it. She never touched it! I don't know what to do or if there is anything to do
If it were me I would leave her be as opposed to disturbing her. Not all hermies will burrow/cover up to molt. I have also noted that not always am I able to see the water sac that many hermies get when in premolt so I don't go too much on whether I can see one or not. I usually go by their 'actions' as in any behavior changes as well. I have noted that on many here they do seem to gorge prior to molting but can also go for a week up to about 2 weeks without touching any food when in premolt. Best I do is still offer the food, both waters and leave them to do what they feel they need to do. (and check that the perimeters of the tank are in order too)
