I know that Peppermint is a big NONO!!!
But what about Apple Mint? We grow a bunch of it in our backyard (Mojitos in the Summer^^) and I am 2 days away from harvesting and drying.
I am putting away some of my herb garden for the crabs as well, and had a heated discussion with my hubbys mom about the Bayleaf. I checked some save food lists but did not find anything. (Maybe I just didn't see it) I keep Bayleafs in my kitchen counters, to keep bugs away. I don't see how Hermits could be ok with it!
Any thoughts?

Re: Mint?
Mint of all varieties is often used as an insect repellent because it is irritating to them. Given our crabs' sensitivity to insect repellents, I wouldn't offer mint.
Bay leaves are mentioned on several websites as being cockroach, moth, and fly deterrents - I wouldn't offer those to crabs either.

Re: Mint?
When we moved into our house, it was moth infested. That is why I still have Bayleaf in my cabinets. I was pretty sure that wont be an option for the crabs. I had no idea that all kinds of Mint are bad for bugs
Guess it will all end up in our tea cups this winter and the crabs get to munch on the parsley

Re: Mint?
I would avoid bayleaf. I've never done a food trial on it, but it is generally regarded as a bug repellant, as mentioned.
Spearmint is fine and crabs like it pretty well. The only reason to fear mint is if you don't know the difference between spearmint and peppermint. Catnip is also in the mint family and my crabs wouldn't eat any when I conducted a food trial on it.
