OKay, yesterday I found out that my best friend got 2 hermti crabs. I was a little dissapointed though! She gets a lot of what she wants---so, i have to admit i am jealous. when she told me, we were on the phone, so i tried to sounds really happy an joyful and all that, it's just REALLY HARD. she has a guinea pig that she doesn't even take care of, and i KNOW for a fact that hermies are a lot harder work than a guinea pig (i've baby sat a guinea pig for 2 weeks). So...i do NOT want her to let them die or if she got tired of then just give then to me because, that's a bad habit i guess.

Well, i'm going over to her house today, you know, to help her out with them. I want to do the right thing! Just i keep hearing the stupid little voice in the back of my head saying "I'm so jealous! She gets EVERYTHING she wants! She has a guinea pig and doesn't even take CARE of that pet! And now she has ANOTHER PET! URG!"

i'm just so confused between being a good friend or doing what i feel like doing. >[ any advice?!?

that's tough when your friend isn't taking care of her animals like she should. i would watch out for them. when you go over, make sure she knows everything about hermies, that's all you really can do. jealousy is a human emotion, you can't make yourself stop. just be sure she has all the information she needs to take care of them. i'm sorry i can't help.

thanks. it's makes it harder to criticise (spelling?) her on it and stuff. Anyways, i told her everything peice by peice--------BUT----

before we left to take me home..

...she said she wasn't sure if she wanted them anymore!!

i am dissapointed! i cannot believe that.

she said i could have them (she's returning all the other stuff).

*sigh*

That is sad but at least if you get them you know they will be taken care of. I know what you mean about feeling like you are letting her get out of the responsibilty but try no to think about that think about the hermies.

lol. my mom hates my hermies. i was telling her how i needed a hermie sitter and she's like "why, aren't they like fish?" she doesn't understand. good thing i live in my own apartment and 250 miles away from her!

Ha i know what you mean about moms not likeing them... mine didnt like them until i bought a micro.. then she though it was cute. lol. she claims i have too many now i only have 9 so she is making me get rid of some. i dont want to!!!!

aww, that's no fair!! it's like telling her "you need to get rid of some of your make-up" or whatever she really loves!!

anyways, i got the crabs, they are ADORABLE! i am glad i have them!! their names are Squirt and Sprite

Here's Squirt (Sprite is digging now, he needs to molt):

They are both males. (all my crabs are males...well i am not sure about Peanut).
