For me, humidity has never been a problem! :)
However, similar to Wai, I had problems with aggression between crabs, especially during the "moulting" times. Another issue I had is keeping the heat above 25c during winter, I really need a CHE during the winter!

I've never had any problems with 'Impulse Buying'. They're just animals that I forgot I had planned to get.

Yeah our electricity bill is always really high. Refusing to consider it might be our tank ;). Sometimes ignorance is bliss lol

That's me too. Before I had to leave the crabs at the babysitter's I kept the house's heat pretty low and just had the tank going on its own thermostat (I love my thermostat for taking the guesswork/stress out of keeping the temperature right at least!). If I had my crabs here I think it would be easier to deal with as my heat is gas, not electric. Different bills, more ways to *forget* where that money's going!

Just a correction to my previous post - the crab who was killed was Charon, not Vesta. I now have a tank of male crabs only.

It would be interesting to see if any different behaviours came from a one-gender tank...

I purchased a 3 inch shell never realizing how huge it was. I think my crabs got scared of it when I placed it inside the tank as just decoration. It looked like a Giant Crab God. Wow was it big. Shells are a problem for the big guys. If you check out my "journal" you will see I now have seven crabs. My biggest problem now is the size of the tank appropriate for this increase.I have three wearing 2 inch shells and four smaller ones now. I was thinking maybe a 90 gallon tank and make a big gymnasium for them someday. They are thriving extremely well. I spend a fortune on food, water and stuff. Any suggestions.
