Wet sand also promotes mould, so you'd want to avoid that.

so it's a good idea to make half the tank wet sand? is the gravel and soil just on that side? bc i can do that now, on the side that bebe isn't buried. how do you make the sand moist? pour water on it and stir it around or what?

well, usually mine just get's moist by misting it. But you need to have some wet sand in your tank in oder for a good/better result in molting.
