EEWWWW CUTTLEBONE SMELLS SO! BAD! What is it made out of anyways?

What does it smell like? I never had one smell bad.

its so smelly... I cant describe the smell. and there is no way im reaching back in that container to pull out a peice of it...NO WAY!

Does it smell fishy or like stale food?

You could try taking it back to the store you got it from and have them smell it.
What company is it from? You could call/email the company and find out if this smell is 'normal' for their product. Trick is you have to try to describe the smell better than smelly.

Well my cuttle bone smells "normal" it has an odor, but it isn't noticeably foul.

Lol. I use the cuttlebone rairly. its sortof a fishy smell but not really. a fishy smell smells good.

I just got a cuttlebone from Petco too and it's smeeeellllyyyyy ewww gross. Lol, it smells like... Not really like fish. Kinda like... Worse. Idk it doesn't smell like rancid but it's unpleasant. i'm not sure what to do about it. I want to take it back, but I am afraid to because then they will be like "rawr rawr rawr why you such a bad customer argh" lol. But ack... It makes my room kinda smell, lol.

It could probably be cleaned, rinsed, maybe boiled, and dried. I'm think I'm going to try that.

And why it sort of has sort of an odor of fish. I found that it does get a slight odor when placed in a humid warm environment. Not too bad when I grind them up to put them in the food dish.
