Smoke Samon

Post by Chermo »

My husband made smoked samon the other day, he smoked it with hickory and cherry wood, is it safe for the hermies? For some of you that don't know smoking food is done by putting the wood and charcoal in one side of the smoker and then the heat from the fire smokes the meat, no actual wood touches the meat. I think I read that cherry wood is on the unsafe list but I was not sure about it because the food was smoked with the wood, they are not eatting the wood or even going near the wood.

Due to family issues my crabs have been adopted out to wizkidsmom (Cheryl), I know she will care for them like I did. Thanks Cheryl

The reason chery wood is on the unsafe list is because it contains cyanide, so I would consider this a risky thing. If it was just hickory, I'd say go for it.
