Transporting Hermies??

Post by z06vette387 »

Hey,

Ok, next weekend I am going to my girlfriends house for the superbowl. Now since I have no classes on Friday and a night class on monday, I might leave late thursday, or early friday. I don't want to leave my hermies alone for 3 day unattended since my roommate is also going home.

What do I need to do to transport them? It's a 2 1/2 hour drive. My tank won't fit on the floor so I can't get heat to it that way. I am going to drape a wet towel over it to keep the humidity up...but what about the heat? Will that even be a problem? Temp. is about 75 right now, and has been staying about 75.

Thanks
Matt

I wouldn't worry baout the heat at all. 75* is fine. But be sure to check on the humidity every once in a while. :)

So draping a wet towel over the tank would be fine as far as keeping the humidty in?

Probably. Also, fill their sponges before you leave. and maybe before you get there, at some point, just add more water to them. I'd watch the humidity though. But I'm sure everything will go fine

Well the other thing is, as far as humidity and heat goes, they bury themselves in the forest bedding which is moist but not to moist, and the sand is warm because it's right above the heater. They also don't start moving around until 11:00 PM and I should be in around 10:00...that's if I leave Friday.

Thanks for the input everyone :D
