I made my hermit crabs on egg omlet with the shell in it with carrots. I topped it with blueberries for some sweetness. is this safe for them, and do you think they will like it?

Yeah, that's all safe for them. Let it cool down until it's cold, then offer it to them

Sounds yummy for crabs. I just thought I'd mention that many people use non-stick cookware for eggs, but this can be unsafe, especially when the pan is on high heat.

great.... i am kind of new to this so when shouldi give it to them and how much? also, pans are metal isnt this dangerous?

There is a way to make scrambled eggs in the microwave, I don't know how exactly but I know you can do it. Maybe put it in for 30 seconds and then stir it and do another 30 seconds if it needs it.

Great question! Metal pans are a concern, but most of us find stainless steel acceptable. Iron and aluminum tend to deposit metal bits in the food too much to be considered safe. Steel is a lot more durable and therefore safer. Glass and ceramic are good choices for cooking too. Even when using steel, I would not leave the food in the pan any longer than it needs to cook.

try mine, I call it crab salad

Romaine Lettuce
Any hermie safe fruit
Krill, plankton or shrimp wholes
Ground up cuttlebone
Carrots or corn

Mix it altogether and the crabs will get alot of necessary nutrients.

Cuttlebone = Calcium
Krill = Protein
Carrots = Carotene
Fruit = taste
Lettuce = taste
