I don't see them on the safe food list, so I'm not sure.

Lemon Balm (Sweet Melissa) is on the no list

It is the flower of the basil that is okay to feed them.

If you join epicureanhermit.com you can post it and they "test" the herb in question to make sure that you can give it to your crabbies.

How do they test it, do they do it on hermies or how do they do it?

Due to family issues my crabs have been adopted out to wizkidsmom (Cheryl), I know she will care for them like I did. Thanks Cheryl

Most tests are done with our hermies. We offer a tiny bit and watch to see if they eat it or not. It usually takes a couple of tries with new foods. Hermit crabs are smart critters and will not eat something that is bad for them. They may take a bite, and leave it or they will devour it.

Tomato leaves is one on a trail.

Oh that is cool, I was wondering how they knew what was safe and not safe. I never knew they wouldn't eat what was not good for them. I figured they ate anything.
