Re: sea monkey as food?
I'm not sure on the sea monkeys firsthand but this website - http://www.sea-monkeys.com/html/aboutsm ... ethey.html - makes me want to say no. It says that the sea monkeys need the "exact, pre-blended formula of "magic crystals"" in order to live in your home...and without knowing what exactly those "magic crystals" are, I would say no. As for the sea monkeys themselves...I would be hesitant to put them into my tank without knowing what was in the 'magic crystals' and the contents of the food.

Sea Monkeys are brine shrimp. You can get them at most pet stores in the fish section. Sometimes they are frozen but the ones I used to get for the fish we had were live. You kept them in the fridge for a few days. They don't last long. They aren't real big either, maybe 1/4 of an inch long.
Here's some kewl facts about them

The dried crystals come in the sea monkey kits. Just dont get the kit. Go to a pet store, or call ahead of time, and ask if they sell live brine shrimp. Then you can feed them to the crabs.

Re: sea monkey as food?
I did a crazy thing. I posted a question to the Sea Monkey people telling them we want to feed sea monkeys to our hermit crabs hehe. And I asked them if they could tell us what's in the "Magic Crystals" or at least if there is anything that MAY not be good for our crabs.
If nothing else I get a useless answer.
But who knows, they may actually tell me!
