Cheese

Post by clonehappy »

I see some people say it's fine as a treat ... the natural organic stuff, but well 1) I dont exactly live by a fresh market type place unfortunately, and 2) I've checked the supposed organic/natural cheeses and all of them have salt. Is this still safe? I buy mild chedder cheese cubes for myself and I've read those ingredients and they dont have anything different from the organic listings ... milk, salt, cultures and all. Just curious ... they get the PP mix, fresh cut up grapes and melon (different fruits every few days) with the boost powder on some pieces, and I've been goin nuts tryin to figure the cheese thing out lol :)

I want to try some cucumbers and carrots sometime soon I just dont want them to go bad I have such bad luck with fruits and veggies going bad so fast in the frig haven't a clue why though. I be cursed yaarrr!

I would say NO for the cheese, but for the fruits and veggies take out about what you would use for a week and cut up the rest and freeze so it lasts longer. I have tons of fruits and veggies in my freezer in the basement that I come down and figure out what they have not had lately and break apart some and give it to them. I even blended some fruits together with oats and cuttlebone and froze it flat in a ziplock bag and just break off a chunk for them everyonce in a while. You can even do the same with baby foods. Get organic baby foods from the grocery store or walmart or target or whatever and dump it in a ziplock bag and freeze it flat then you can break off chunks, the babyfoods are great because they contain meats (if you buy the meat ones) mixed with veggies or fruits. I think they are great they are messy though when they defrost if someone decides to walk through the food dish.

Due to family issues my crabs have been adopted out to wizkidsmom (Cheryl), I know she will care for them like I did. Thanks Cheryl

Cheese is fine as a treat, but don't feed it regularly.

My hermies have had cheese twice in the year I've had them. I gave it to them on eggs with mealworms and they went nuts!

I think occasional feedings of cheese is fine, but make sure that it isn't that processed stuff that is chemicals and rancid oils and junk. My crabs have never really gone crazy for any cheeses, or cucumber and carrot for that matter.
