silent buried crabs

Post by Jaci »

i was under the impression that crabs who dig and stay under the sand for a while (4 days) if they're molting or for fun, will make noise. i have 2 under and have heard nothing. when they first went under i heard Lemi, but haven't heard them since. no smell, but is it normal not to hear them for a while?

:S I so wish I knew more about hermies... my two have been mostly burried in the gravel for the last few days, and I've been wondering what they're doing! I've smothed the sand, and no tracks in the morning! it's so scary not knowing what's going on w/ em... hope it all works out for you!

ditto on that. they can be so confusing! it would be fun if you could see through the sand. it's just nerve wracking not knowing if they're ok....no smell is a good sign though. i wish they could talk. XD

yeah, they seem to know what they're doing. this waiting is killing me! and they've only been under since sunday. my boyfriend and i live apart (i'm at college) and when i come home, he gets "custody". adam made the mistake of digging them up when i went home for spring break last week. he said he was worried. i handed him my hermie manual, told him to read it, or he wouldn't get the crabs again. XD i told him that digging buried crabs up is a huge mistake because they're digging for a reason. thankfully, they buried themselves again that day and they haven't been disturbed. i just thought that they usually made noise, so i got worried when i heard nothing. that's why i wanted to know if not hearing anything is a good thing.

Sometimes i WISH you could hear. i heard them one time when i accidently collapsed a part of the hole (i thknk, either that or he was "remodeling") and i heard him digging more. ^)

those crazie crabbies! ;)
PS- where'd you get the hermie manual, or did you make it? i don't know why, but it sounds so cool "hermie manual", lol! XD

hermie manual is what i call my book about hermies. i bought it at barnes and nobel when we got tweek and butters. :) it answers all my questions except ones about molting. they only had 1 paragraph about molting. that's why i joined this forum.
