Is moulting contagious?

I lost 1 hermie but we just got us 6 more so we have 17 now. 8 of my crabs have barried themselves and it seems like 2 more are trying to bury themselves. Some of my brand new ones burried under right away but the sand they were in at the pet store was not deep enough to bury themselves in. Is it normal to have so many barying at the same time?

i think so. i brought one home a couple weeks ago and the first thing she did was bury herself. I had my baby also buried, so I think that they make friends and maybe molt together. who knows with crabs. they're so funny
