I tell ya what! Last night as we slept & Bianca went past, the hermies have ALL trashed their tanks!!!! You'd think there's been a cyclone in them -- especially the one with Maynard, Cheeki & Peanut! 8|

Hubby also made an obseravtion last night. he said they seem to eat like little PIGGIES before it rains. Anyone else have little piggies before a weather change?

wheather shell change?

Post by hermie_lover3542 »

Last night we had some serious thunderstorms. It was pouring all night and this morning. I noticed that my hermies have switched shells alot. They were also very active. Could the storms caused them to do that? We're expecting storms tomarrow too.

I don't think anyone knows for sure, but hermit crabs do seem to be able to detect weather changes outside such as barometric pressure, despite being indoors.

Through the night on the 28th of Feb we had terrible storms then had a tornado watch here until 1.p.m. Our hermies got real quiet that night earlier before the storms hit, but became active again about 3 that afternoon. Strange how it seems they can sense things like this.

With the uncommon earthquake that was felt along the east coast of U.S. within this past week, and now with hurricane Irene along the east coast has anybody noted any behaviors of their hermies that may or may not be any different?
