suction cups

Post by whitepurplefrog »

I have a probelm with my suction cups on my hammacks and plants staying on the glass. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get my suction cups to stick for a long time

The less liquid the better.

I take a sponge and just lightly wipe the suction cup, and it seems to hold better than when saturated.

I've tried that, they seem to still come off. I've even tried lightly applying vegtable oil, which is safe for crabs, but that does not seem to work either. I'm setting up a new tank and I want everything great and safe for my crabbies.

I have not had that problem except for if the suction cup is fairly old they don't hold as well. If this is the case I would replace them. If it is not the one other thing I could think of would be to buy some aquarium sealant and maybe put a little on the back and let it dry course then you wouldn't be able to move them around.

I seem to have that problem when it gets cold outside. Try getting new suction cups. some of them just arent meant to ever work. lol. just make sure you dont get the ones with metal hooks! metal is BAD for crabs

yeah, the only thing that you can do in those cases usually is the trial and error method.
