Re: pale
He is probably getting ready to molt, just feed him tons of protein and calcium and make sure you provide fresh and salt water and let him be. You can make sure you put carrots in there too if you want but I am sure he is pre molt right now.

1. he could be ready to molt as they cannot usually molt in pet storesChermo wrote:He is probably getting ready to molt, just feed him tons of protein and calcium and make sure you provide fresh and salt water and let him be. 2. He may have low carotene due to none fed in pet store
3. Both
I'd feed him carrots and corn or shrimp tails they all have carotene and shrimp tails also have TONS of calcium which is important. And as Chermo said, keep salt water and fresh available for him and he will do whatever. Also make sure you have deep moist sand.

Re: pale
well my iso tank is a mini crab carrier, and I cant really put anything but food in it, but I take him out like twice a day and have him run around in my sink, with water to the correct level, with declorinated water, dont worry

Re: pale
Try some dried shrimp too; meat is a must in their diet. Feed him as many different foods as you can find. If you are unsure of something, let us know.

Re: pale
I have found that my crabs don't really like krill.
It's a shame because it's so easy to find.

Re: pale
You shouldn't take him out if you suspect he's pre-molt. That will stress him out and keep him from molting successfully. Even if it's just a small shell with water, you should have water in there and let him alone.
