Before I buy Stress Coat...

Where can you buy that Stresscoat stuff? And is it made for fish or something? I can't find it in the hermie section.

stress coat gives a slime coating to fish. i dont know that its the best thing to use for hermies. there should be a yellow bottle with a blue label on it that dechlorinates water near where the stresscoat is that doesn't give the fish coating. maybe that would be a better one to try if you can find it. its a better price too. you should get a tiny stress coat and see how you like it compared to a tiny bit of the yellow bottle.

This is all you'll probably find:
- Plastic critter keepers
- Dishes (varies)
- Hermit crab food
- Salt bath crystals (which take ages to dissolve)
- Gravel / woodshavings
- Painted shells
- Unpainted shells with holes in them
- Sponges (if you're lucky)
- One-sided "care sheet"

Most pet shops have thermometers, but I really doubt that they'll have hygrometers. Oh humidity? What's that for?

Look in the fish section for some goodies. You probably won't find everything you'll need, but it is worth looking at.

alot of the fish stuff you find here http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/shop.cfm?c=3578 you can easily fin din the pet store. at least a corporate place like petco or maybe a fish place. i look in reptile and fish for hermie stuff

In mine they have plastic shells. They also have hygrometers and stuff, but not the good kind. I found some stresscoat, but didn't get it, because I didn't have any money left after I got my new girls.

stresscoat is a no-no for drinking water (IMO). its for fishies and their slimcoat, which hermies don't have. try buying distilled water or using purified water from your fridge.

I just moved my fish into a bigger tank and i used the stress coat and I got the water on my hand and it felt like slime. The slime stuck to my hand. it was so gross.
