Hermit Crab Fruit Salad

Post by anniehorsekrab »

Hey guys,

Since coming here, I've learned that commercial foods are poisonous to crabs. So I try to avoid them at all costs. However, there is this one product called "Hermit Crab Fruit Salad." It's by ZooMed, but I checked the ingrediants label (I always do) and the ingrediants were: dried cranberry, dried apple, and dehydrated mango. That's it. No preservatives or anything. So even though it's technically a commercial food, AND by ZooMed, AND titled as a "Hermit Crab" product, those are the only ingrediants. Also, I tasted everything in there and it was DELISH!!! And I didn't get poisoned or anything X( . So, what do YOU think? I fed it to my crabs, and, like me, they find it DELISH!!! As soon as I put down the bowl Mr. Krabs Sr. was over there in 30 seconds flat!! Seriously!

Anyway, is it safe?

It looks like it's safe for them - I haven't been able to find anything that says it contains anything other than dried fruit.

Please, to test the safety of foods for hermies do not eat them yourself ask here!! :|
But I have this and have fed it to the hermies here now for a couple of years, no problems. (but I never tasted it, but it does smell good)

Well then, it sounds like a good product! AND my hermies just LOVE it! (also, I didn't eat it just to test the safety, I ate it because the ingrediants looked so GOOOOD!!!) (they were)
