please help!!

I got a new hermit crab and i put him in his cage. I was surprized to find that he had climbed all the way up to the top of the cage and was hanging of the bars on the lid! But the bars are metal and metal hurts hermit crabs right? will he get ill from this? he keeps climbing up and im scared the metal will hurt him or he'll fall and crack his shell open.He is a small hermit crab and if he falls my only worrie is if he falls on one of the toys. it doesnt seem to be hurting him and ive checked his shell for cracks. can anyone help

Crabs climb and crabs fall. It's normal for them to do it. If your tank is a 10 gallon then there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

Crabs also aren't going to melt into a puddle of goo just because they were climbing on a metal screen. It's not ideal to have metal tank furniture, but it climbing on your mesh a little isn't that big a deal. If it tears some off though, you might have to rescreen your top.

Thanks so much, I get a little overworried when it comes to my pets.

The lid is really strong so no hermit crab could get through. You seem to know alot about hermitcrabs so Im sure my climbing hermie will be fine.
