This is my second complaint about Pet Shops --This time it is Per Smart.
About a month ago I was in the store looking for crabs .I inquired of a clerk what sizes she had and she didn't know ,just pointed to tank and the were all small .At the time I noticed the condition of the tanks(2) Pretty sick no humidity ,little or no heat no food and only small amt of plain water in one of the tanks.Last week I went to store and agoinsituation the same and no water in either one. I mentioned to clerk and she checked and said the sponge was damp,Today I went to store and still no change except one tank had a large number of VERY small crabs water dish was dry and one little fellow was scratching around in the sand in dish.Still no humidity misting or food.I talked to a asst manager and he didn't seem to know anything about their care .He went back tolook and when I left store he ignored me. I would hope that some of the members could complain to Pet Smart as I feel that any of these little guys that are purchased will not last too long .It is a sad situation ! I have complained three times and no action by PS . Verne

My Petsmart is actually doing good...their temp is around 80 F and their humidity is low...45%, but the best pet store i have seen yet.

Keep talking to the workers. Usually if you tell them enough they listen. One time i compianed about their being no water (the dlerk did the same thing, felt the spong said it was "damp"). The next time i wen there there was water in a bowl and there was food too.

i wonder if they have complaint cards that you can fill out. lol. i'd fill one out every day.

me too! i think that's why they don't have them: they would be might sued by now if they did.

i wish they did have cards to fill out! and they would listen.

I have been to the Pet Smart here too and they are pretty good about there hermit crab tank. They had large and small crabs and all seemed pretty good they change the tank around each time they clean it. Although once they were giving the crabs a bathe when we were there and I think the lady drowned a few of the small guys. I told her and she said no it was ok. The best store we have here is called Pet Food Center. Always have lots of crabs. I have only had 1 that passed away that I bought from there.

Never heard of Pet Food Center.

I wish i could have the guts like some people! I would agrue with a stores clerk if i wasn't so shy.
