Meijers is just as bad as wal-mart. The man working there threw the crabs into the box. I mean he really threw them into the box.

I always pick out which ones i want, literally, and then find the sales person and I place the crabs in the box.

i signed it too. that's horrific. i know that the walmart here and the ones at home do not sell hermit crabs. if they start, i will throw a fit.

Yes, Meijer is really bad, but i think better than walmart. my miejer has a tank that has a coco fiber back ground with gravel for substrate that is wet all over. and one little shell with comercial food. i felt so bad!! That's where i got Qwerty. And then Peanut.

Mine meijers has sand for its floor, it is drenched with water. The crabs stand on the back of the food dishpushed against back wall to keep out of all that water.

Have you tried talking to the manager or the person in charge of the hermies. Maybe they are just not aware. Or you could try printing out a sheet of info for them to look at about how to care for them and they may change things.
