HELP...is this BAD!!!

Post by z06vette387 »

I just got my first two hermies, Moe and Curley. They explored their new home for a while, they got into their water dishand did something, I don't know if they were drinking or bathing???

Well now they are buried. Would they be molting or destressing or somthing? I mean they are completly 100% buried, help me please...make me feel better...lol

I'm sure they're fine. New hermit crabs tend to be a little inactive for the first few days and bury themselves. Don't worry. ;)

yep, they're right! if you just got them, you should feel proud that they buried themselves! means they got the right number of nutrients and they feel comfortable enough to molt. congrats!

Ohhh, good. Now I can stop being worried.

Just an update though, they are now Julius Ceaser, Manson, and my newest addition, Seymore. At the time I only had two, and Moe and Larry just didn't fit since I didn't have a Curly.

None of them have molted though, the longest any one of them will stay down is like 2 days tops, then they come up eat, climb around, etc.
